We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Conveyancing Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our conveyancing department, ensuring that all transactions are processed smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Assist conveyancers in managing the conveyancing process from instruction to completion.
- Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and property searches.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, and other third parties to gather necessary information and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and update case management systems accordingly.
- Conduct property searches and obtain relevant information from local authorities.
- Handle correspondence related to transactions, ensuring timely responses to all enquiries.
- Assist in the preparation of completion statements and ensure funds are transferred accurately.
- Provide administrative support as required, including filing, scanning, and organising documents.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- SUBSTANTIAL CONVEYANCING EXPERIENCE
- LIVES LOCALLY TO SELBY OR YORK WITH TRANSPORT
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A basic understanding of property law or previous experience in a legal environment is desirable but not essential.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
